On Wednesday, July 5, the State of Washington's Governor signed a new Paid Family and Medical Leave law. The new state law provides for a total of up to 18 weeks of paid leave to employees who work in the State of Washington. Premiums will start being collected on January 1, 2019, and employees may start collecting paid leave benefits on January 1, 2020.
