NLRB Notice Posting Rule To Take Effect January 31, 2012

Friday, December 23, 2011

As of January 31, 2012, most private sector employers will be required to post a notice advising employees of their rights under the National Labor Relations Act. The notice should be posted in a conspicuous place, where other notifications of workplace rights and employer rules and policies are posted. Employers also should publish a link to the notice on an internal or external website if other personnel policies or workplace notices are posted there.

The NLRB provides answers to frequently asked questions regarding this final rule on its website: http://www.nlrb.gov/faq/poster.  There are also examples of posters that employers can post.  These posters are available in English as well as 27 other commonly used languages.  Go here for more information and downloadable posters:  http://www.nlrb.gov/poster
