DOL Issues Regulations to Update FLSA and EPPA Posters

Friday, August 12, 2016

On July 27, the Department of Labor (DOL) issued regulations requiring covered employers to update their Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) Minimum Wage posters and their federal Employee Polygraph Protection Act (EPPA) posters.

The minimum wage poster has been updated to  include information regarding the rights of nursing mothers in the workplace, the consequences of independent contractor misclassification, tip credits and DOL enforcement of FLSA violations.  A DOL-approved copy of the new minimum wage poster can be found at https://www.dol.gov/whd/regs/compliance/posters/minwage.pdf.

The EPPA poster has been updated to include contact information for the DOL and no longer has information regarding the penalty amount for violators. A sample of the poster can be found at https://www.dol.gov/whd/regs/compliance/posters/eppac.pdf.
